Last nite and today are the most amazing days of my life, BY FAR. I am in awe. While Barack Obama is being called the first Black President Elect, I am grinning ear to ear. First of all…that man is MIXED. And I’m mixed. I feel like I can do anything right now. Barack Obama has made me realize that even though this country is just as racist and prejudice as it was in the 1960’s and before (they are all undercover racists now because it’s not PC), it is still possible for people like me to make it.
I am so high right now. This victory has made me feel like White Corporate American will lose. They are oh so powerful, but I think people can see that it really does count if you go out and vote. Sure, the “popular vote” doesn’t count. BUT IN THIS CASE….IT WORKED! The system worked (kinda).
Of course, I do still think that the two party system is insufficient. We have too many different types of people in the country and too many needs, but in due time…
I really hope that you guys are as excited and optimistic as I am. I know our government is corrupt, but this is a sign that things will start to change. Even if it’s just a little bit. I have never been this proud.
Just keep in mind that the ignorant members of white america are going to show their true colors. Don’t get it twisted! There are lots of white people that are not stupid racist ass holes, but there are probably more that ARE. Just a little while ago I heard someone say, “I hope they look good in burkas.” This was in reference to me and a co-worker being excited about Obama’s victory. We have to stand together and be strong. This is going to be hard. I am sure you all are seeing signs of it as well. But we’re ready. Take on those haters with a smile and know in your heart that things will be ok.
Ok, I’m done preaching. I just feel so inspired right now. Wow…we’ve made history and changed the course of our future. Doesn’t it feel great?
